Innovations are born in Glarus and you can be a part of it! Kunststoff Schwanden AG manufactures high-tech injection-molded plastic parts and complex sub-assemblies.
Our customers include leading car manufacturers and companies making various household appliances, including those that may be in your home. We also develop and produce packaging solutions for the food industry, which you have probably encountered while shopping for groceries.
With us, you'll have the opportunity to do an apprenticeship in a versatile company and help shape the future. We currently employ around 20 apprentices in various fields.

Innovative plastic parts
Plastics are high-quality materials characterized by their versatility, reliability, and low weight. We use injection molding technologies and various other processes to manufacture high-tech products from plastics. For the automotive industry, for example, we manufacture fuel caps, cooling water expansion tanks and brake systems. We supply the food industry with lids and coffee capsules. In the field of household appliances you will find our products, for example, on coffee machines or on surfaces of steamers and washing machines.

Our various apprenticeships offer you the opportunity to bring your knowledge, your technical understanding and your craftsmanship. You will work with experienced professionals who will introduce you to your new field. We encourage you to take the initiative early on and give you responsibility for smaller projects. As an automation technician, you will learn to commission and maintain machines, plants, and automation systems. Your tasks will also include project planning, programming, and the creation of instructions and documentation.
In order to start an apprenticeship as an
automation technician at Kunststoff Schwanden AG, you must have completed
Sekundar A (roughly tenth grade) and have good grades in mathematics and
physics. In addition, you should have a strong, practical, and technical
understanding and be good with your hands. You need to like working carefully with
precision and be interested in new technologies, electrical engineering, and
technical contexts.

During a three-year apprenticeship, you will get to know all of the important activities in everyday office life. You will spend half a year in each of our departments.
In order to start a commercial apprenticeship at Kunststoff Schwanden AG, you must have completed secondary school and have good grades in languages and mathematics. In addition, you must be very responsible, reliable and independent. You frequently receive compliments for your organizational talent and you have a flair for numbers. Working with plastics is a career with a future. You will learn how to set up and program injection molding machines. You will develop customer-specific applications and ensure the quality of sampling and new tools. You will also be responsible for monitoring production processes. Your field of activity will also include quality control, turning and milling of simple components, and the maintenance of machines and equipment.
In order to start an apprenticeship as a plastics technician at Kunststoff Schwanden AG, you must have completed secondary school and be interested in physical and chemical processes. You should also be logical, work with precision and have good spatial imagination. You should also be interested in production facilities and developing your technical skills.

Multi-discipline mechanic / Production mechanic (state-certified)

A multi-discipline mechanic or production mechanic apprenticeship lasts four or three years. In the first two years, the foundations are laid with basic and supplementary training; the apprentice then selects at least one focal area to specialize in later on. As a multi-discipline mechanic, you will produce high-tech parts and production equipment.
In order to start an apprenticeship as a multi-discipline mechanic at Kunststoff Schwanden AG, you must have completed secondary school and be interested in technology. Your technical and practical understanding should be very high and you should have technically skills. You should like to work carefully and enjoy craftsmanship and machinery.

As an IT specialist in the field of business informatics, you will need to be an all-round talent. You will become familiar with both systems engineering and software development. You will be able to support users with complex IT problems. You will put devices into operation, install and configure servers, maintain networks, or work on developing the next generation of programs. You will need to be able analyze client requirements, draw up test concepts, and implement the applications in the database.
In order to start an apprenticeship as a state-certified IT specialist at Kunststoff Schwanden AG, you must have completed secondary school. You must be patient, persistent and have a systematic way of working. Logical-abstract thinking, creativity in the search for solutions, as well as the ability to understand situations quickly will be important.

As a logistician specializing in warehouse management, you will receive, check and log goods in the computer system. You will also store them using forklifts or complex conveyor systems. Logisticians place orders, prepare everything for delivery, prepare delivery documents and load vehicles.
In order to start an apprenticeship as a state-certified logistics technician at Kunststoff Schwanden AG, you must have completed secondary school. You must have a very high practical understanding, be technically skilled, and good at organization. Perseverance, sociability, and a strong sense of customer service will also be important.
